She has the mandate to control compliance with data protection regulations in the state of Berlin, to inform on data protection issues, to advise and to protect our fundamental right of informational self-determination.

One year General Data Protection Regulation

Since May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union is valid and directly applicable in all European Member States. One year later, it's time for a first interim assessment: what was the reason for creating a EU-wide uniform data protection law? Did the expectations of this law come true? What has changed for the economy, the citizens and the supervisory authorities? Who benefits from the law, who has the job? And was the effort worth it?
