Martin Tschirsich

Martin Tschirsich is a computer scientist and works in the IT security firm Modzero. At the Chaos Communication Congress in Leipzig in December 2018, he uncovered serious safety deficiencies in Vivy's electronic medical record. The deficiencies have now been resolved based on these instructions; however, the process clearly demonstrates the privacy issues that patients face in the upcoming comprehensive digitization of the health sector. All your health data belong to us

Health apps are part of our everyday lives. From simple pedometer to health records to smartphone apps for heart pacemakers, they should enable us to live a healthier and more self-determined life. This can only work if we allow access to our health data. The more data, the better.
The problem is that the security of these comprehensive data collections is guaranteed only in very few cases. An experienced attacker can not be stopped by seals of quality, certification or official classification of medical devices.
But why is that? And why is there a danger behind this for all of us? These questions will be answered in the presentation with practical examples. Approaches are presented under which conditions we can still use our health data safely.
